Really, all I used to do as a kid is teach my stuffed animals—and sing. Mary Poppins was my go-to, until I met Tammy and started singing “D-I-V-O-R-C-E” with gusto pre-teen. And then came Patsy…and I sang “Crazy” till I was blue.

I was busted in high school gym class for singing show tunes in the outfield. My Green Bay college escape was karaoke at Oneida Casino. I drove with friends in time to croon Alanis. Anyway, these days I’m back to doing both, teaching and singing.

And I’m a little rusty and gathering that child-like abandon, but it feels good to say I have a gig coming up, with a very fine piano player at your local brewery.
